On Dec. 11, 2023, the international editorial board meeting of the Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA) was successfully held both online with Zoom and offline in Hebi, Henan. 94 editorial members,youth committee members, and representatives from 13 countries, including the USA, Germany, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Ukraine, Poland, Turkey,Singapore, Iran, Malaysia, China, etc., attended the meeting. Prof. Fusheng Pan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, editor-in-chief of JMA,president of the International Mg Society, and honorary director of the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys, attended the meeting.The conference was hosted by Prof. Xiaodong Peng, executive deputy editor of JMA.

Firstly, Prof. Yan Yang, the Executive Deputy Director of the Editorial Office, reported the progress and development of JMA in 2023. Withthe efforts of all editorial board members and staff in the editorial office,the number of JMA-published papers and impact factors has increased significantly. Currently, the JMA impact factor ranks first in Metallurgy&Metallurgical Engineering Category. Subsequently, Prof. Xiaodong Peng announced the newly added editorial members and youth committee members in 2023.Academician Fusheng Pan and Academician Enhou Han, issued certificates to the newly added editorial members and youth committee members on site. JMA's10th-anniversary awards were announced, including six categories: Most Valuable Paper Award, Excellent Reviewer Award, Outstanding Youth Committee Member Award, Outstanding Editor Award, Special Contribution Award, and Outstanding Contribution Award.

Beyerlein from the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA,Prof. Jon Weiler from Magnesia Canada, and Prof. Md Shahriar Al Hossain from the University of Queensland, Australia Prof. Nack j. Kim from Pohang University of Science and Technology in South Korea, Prof. Reza Mahmudi from Tehran University in Iran, Prof. Ali Arslan Kaya from Mula Hitch Kokman University in Türkiye, Prof. Ming Jen Tan from Nanyang Technological Universityin Singapore, Prof. Hamid Reza Bakhsheshi Rad from Malaysia Polytechnic University, Prof. Robert Kral from Charles University in Prague in Czech Republic and other experts attended the meeting and made suggestions for the development of the journal.
Finally, Prof. Fusheng Pan summarized the meeting and expressed his gratitude to the editorial members and youth committee members who participated in the conference, especially to Prof. Yuanding Huang (Associate Editor) from Germany for being able to attend the meeting on-site.Subsequently, Prof. Fusheng Pan affirmed the valuable suggestions from the editors, and made specific arrangements for the future critical work of JMA.
