On Nov. 16, 2018, the 2018domestic editorial board meeting of Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA) was successfully held in Suzhou International Expo Center. Editors and representatives from Chongqing University, Shanghai Jiao tong University, and Institute of Metal Research of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jilin University, Xiamen University and Harbin Engineering University attended the meeting. Editor in Chief, Prof. Fusheng Pan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the meeting. The conference was presided over by Prof. Xiaodong Peng, executive deputy editor of JMA.
Prof. Peng gave a welcome speech to the participating editorial board members and representatives, and briefly introduced the development of “Journal of Magnesium and Alloys” (JMA).He affirmed the achievements of JMA in 2018, such as JMA was successfully selected as the International influence promotion plan of Chinese Science and Technology Journals, analyzed the main problems of JMA. Subsequently, Prof. Peng chaired in-depth discussion on countermeasures and measures for the future development of JMA with the participating editorial board and representatives. Prof. Guohua Wu, Prof. Liming Peng, Prof. Xiaoqin Zeng from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Prof. Guangling Song from Xiamen University, Prof. Huiyuan Wang from Jilin University, Prof. Jin Zhang from University of Science and Technology Beijing, Prof. Wenbo Du from Beijing University of Technology, Prof. Rongchang Zeng from Shandong University of Science and Technology, Prof. JingZhang from Chongqing University and other experts provided good suggestions and advice for the development of JMA. Prof. Fusheng Pan, the editor-in-chief of JMA, affirmed the useful suggestions of the participants. Afterwards, Prof. Pan issued letters of appointment to the participating editors. Prof. Peng announced the winners of JMA Award in 2018. Authors such as Andrej Atrens(Australia), Alan A. Luo (USA) and Muhammad Rashad (Pakistan) won the Best Paper Award. Prof. Pan issued award certificates to the on-site winners including the Special Contribution Award, Best Reviewer, Best Paper Award, and Annual Outstanding Paper Award. Finally, Prof. Pan summarized the meeting and made arrangements for the key tasks of JMA in future.
