On Nov. 21, 2020, 2020 editorial board meeting of Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA) was successfully held both online with Zoom and offline in Chongqing. Editors and representatives from the United States, UK, Germany, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Turkey, China, etc. attended the meeting. Professor Fusheng Pan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, editor-in-chief of Journal of Magnesium and Alloys, and director of the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys(CCMg), attended the meeting. Firstly, Prof. Fusheng Pan gave a welcome speech to all the participating editors and representatives, affirming the achievements of JMA, and thanking the editors for their long-term support to JMA. Subsequently, Dr. Yan Yang, the managing editor of JMA, reported the progress and development of JMA from 2019 to 2020. With the efforts of all editorial board members and all staff in the editorial office, the number of JMA published papers has increased significantly, the impact factor has increased significantly, and the publicity and promotion work has been running well.

Kayafrom Muğla University in Turkey, Professor Guohua Wu from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Gaowu Qin from Northeastern University, Professor Wenbo Du from Beijing University of Technology, Professor Rongshi Chen and Professor Yuansheng Yang from the Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Guangling Song from Xiamen University, etc. made good advice on the future development of JMA.
