Recently, Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA) (ISSN:2213-9567), the first English academic journal focusing on magnesium and magnesium alloys in the world, published and hosted by Elsevier, sponsored by Chongqing University, has been officially indexed in SCIE database. The JMA published papers have been collected in SCIE database since 2016. JMA is the first journal of Chongqing University that is officially indexed in SCIE database.

Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA) was launched in2013 by the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys of Chongqing University and the Chinese Committee for Magnesium and its Application. JMA is the first academic journal focusing on magnesium and magnesium alloys in the world. Prof. Fusheng Pan (Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the director of the CCMg) serves as the editor-in-chief, while Prof. Xiaodong Peng serves as the executive associate editor. The editorial board members consist of world-distinguished experts in the field of magnesium and its alloys from more than 10 countries, including the president of the International Magnesium Association, the chairman of the Korean Materials Society, the member of the American Academy of Engineering, the editor-in-chief of Acta Mater and Mater Sci Eng A, etc., and a number of internationally renowned scientists. The editors of JMA editorial office include Dr. Yan Yang, and Dr. Jiangfeng Song who have overseas education experience.

Magnesium alloy as one of the most potential lightweight materials in the 21st century, has attracted more and more attention worldwide. JMA, as the first English international journal focusing on magnesium alloy in the world. Since its establishment, JMA received strong supports from Chongqing University, famous magnesium centers and KeAi publishing company. The famous material scientist, Prof. Changxu Shi wrote the preface and served as the honorary editor in chief of JMA. Since its establishment in 2013, the academic quality and influence of the journal have continued to rise. In 2018, JMA also got the finance support by International Influence Promotion Plan of Chinese Sci-tech Journals, China Association for Science and Technology. Up to now, JMA has been indexed in a series of important international databases such as SCIE, Scopus and CA. JMA indexed in SCIE is of great strategic significance to enhance the international impact of magnesium alloy industry and promote the application of magnesium alloy.
